Sorry you're going through a tough time - sending our love ❤️ but this is such a lovely post (and a reminder that Gail and I both need right now)! There are definitely glimmers 🥰 🍂 For me recently it's been fairy lights, candles and blankets in the evening snuggled up warm with a good book, or doodling in my sketchbook.
Oooh these sound like excellent glimmers. The thought of fairy lights makes me want to put up the Christmas decorations. Is it too early? Asking for a friend. Hope you’re both ok. X
Deepest condolences on your loss. 💔 I'm glad you can find the glimmers around you to help keep you afloat and a self care regimen is even more critical right now! Thank you for the suggestion of the Yoga....it sounds like something I need as well! 💞
Sorry to hear you’ve had a real time of it this month. Like you, I’ve been loving the leaves and it always amazes me how much they amaze me. We know it happens every year but it’s never any less surprising or spectacular when it happens! 🍂
My glimmers this week have been the birds. An influx of thrushes in the hedgerows and the orchard, a visit from a robin in the potting shed at work, and a little wren tapping on the back door. I even saw a Sparrowhawk yesterday at dusk.
Sounds idyllic! I love to see robins pottering around in the garden. We get a lot of goldfinches and blue tits and it’s such a joy to watch them flitting about.
Autumn is the most inspirational season. (Ok, that’s debatable, but…) the arrival of disruptive nature and being pushed indoors gets the mental cogs mashing.
What a beautiful list 💖 Art has always been and will always be a glimmer for me. I'm so sorry to read about your family bereavement. Sending you a gentle hug 💖
I'm so sorry to hear of your bereavement, sending love. I feel like we are quite similar - I enjoy art too but have limited knowledge, I also don't like to feel hot and sweaty so I'm going to try out the yoga you suggest. Thank you for sharing 😊✨
Aw, thank you. Yes, I think we are quite similar - so much of what you write resonates with me and I think we have a similar sense of humour 😂 The yoga is honestly incredible - I really hope you love it.
The grey season has entered Finland as well. Pretty much no leaves left. My sister who lives in Stockholm told me how beautiful everything is with all the colours. Stockholm is a tiny bit more south than Turku where I live. And yet, what a vast difference.
I am a bit odd regarding this season because I like November. It's less pretentious than July and give me much less anxiety than April. Very odd I know 🤗 so I enjoy the season we are in right now as well as entering into, despite the darkness and the grey.
Sloshy rain/snow however I can really live without! 😅
Not odd at all! Every month has its wonder and I agree with you about November being less pretentious than July. I have never been to Finland or Sweden but they are top of my short haul list of places to visit. Maybe in 2025!
How lovely that you have Finland and Sweden on your list of countries to visit! There is a lot to explore and regardless of the country, south and north are like different worlds.
For me a longing to see UK again has popped up. It's almost 30 years since my last visit!

Once Halloween is over it's never too early for festive joy, thats my rule anyway!! 🥰❤️ x

Thank you Dawn! The yoga is my new favourite thing. I hope you love it too!

Yes! I love the fact we can still be surprised by the wonder of it. It makes it so much more special. 🥰

Absolutely! It’s easy to be inspired by summer but there is so much wild beauty at the end of the year.

Thank you so much Catherine and thank you also for reading. 😊

Art, leaves and self-care - I like these glimmers. Fall flowers give extra spark to the gray fall days.
I agree, Terje. I hope your custodian has left you some leaves to kick through this week. 😊

You will be very welcome when you come back! If you stop by London, let me know and I will show you around. 😁
I promise! And likewise!
