In the Bleak Midwinter is one of my favorite carols now. I first heard it two years ago, as it's not popular in the US, and I became entranced with its hypnotic melody and beautiful lyrics. Now I sing it all the time on my winter walks. ❤️
It was my mum’s favourite and it reminds me so much of her. I find it so evocative and there are a couple of really beautiful arrangements - I love Jamie Cullum’s more jazzy version and Camilla Kerslake’s more traditional (but hauntingly beautiful) version.
