Beautiful reflections. After a busy season of life and work I’m easing into a quieter one. And it definitely feels bold, as you say, in a world that values doing over being. And those final words, “sweet on the tongue and soft for the soul,” made my shoulders stop a few inches 😌
Aww, thank you for reading and I’m so glad. I love the fact you found ease and relaxation here. 🥰 I hope your quieter season is one of restoration and simplicity.
Beautiful Victoria, thank you for putting words to everything I know to be true. Having the seasons as an anchor allows me to live in the present, to orient myself in relation with what is unfolding around me and to feel grateful for all of the necessary shifts in the cycles of growth xx
Lovely reflections, Victoria! It's so nice to be a part of this wonderful Substack community of people who appreciate a slower, more mindful way of life. I always enjoy reading your posts.
Another beautiful piece ... You bring it all together so well, and I found myself nodding along as I read your words. It's perhaps one of the last things I started to do but living in tune with the seasons ties it all together and helps me stay mindful every day as I try to live slowly. It brings with it so much grounding and peace, which fills my soul with calm and gratitude. Thank you Victoria, this was a lovely read 🙏
Thank you Emily! There’s something so magical about being in tune with the seasons. I love the way it grounds us, especially for those of us (me) who have a tendency to live with overwrought nervous systems! 😂
I think I agree with you. Whilst I immersed myself fully into the winter season and enjoyed it, Spring is far easier to align with and there is a new energy making us feel more alive. I think we were ready for Spring and what a wonderful start to the season it has been. The weather has been gorgeous hasn’t it.
We’ve been so lucky! I really hope that isn’t it for the summer. 😂 It’s been raining here in London today which is a bit of a come down after the glorious sunshine although the garden really needs it.
Another lovely piece of writing Victoria. Living in alignment with the seasons means that we can never get bored because there is always something to be preparing for, adapting to, enjoying and resting in and moving on from.
The humans are funny (or it’s rather sad) that they used to live in sync with seasons and nowadays it’s like a rebellion against the contemporary busyness. The people valuing slow seem as “odd one out” when in fact they are the naturals. I hope that as more people speak about it, the more it becomes valued over the competitive rush.
I couldn’t agree more, Terje! It’s a real shame that we’ve lost that way of living in so many parts of life but I am comforted by the fact that there are so many of us that feel more alignment with a more natural, seasonal routine. Maybe things will change in the future. 🤞🏻

Funnily enough, I’ve just written about recovery and recalibration, of the creative kind! 💫💫💫
Oooh, if you’re publishing it, I can’t wait to read! Your posts are always so inspiring.
That’s very kind. A little different from what I’d usually share but needed to purge…so to speak!
Such a beautiful choice of words to describe something so seemingly simple, yet deeper than any of us can ever imagine 🙏🌿
Thank you for reading David. 🙌🏻
Yes, so true! And also the life I want to live ❤
Amen to that! 🥰

Thank you for reading Lyndsay! You’ve described it really beautifully here; that’s exactly how I feel too. ☺️ xx

Thank you Caitlin! I agree; the community here can’t be beaten. It’s so nice to find yourself among so many kindred spirits.

Lovely piece of writing Victoria, reminding us of the importance of aligning ourselves to the season.

FIngers crossed! Yes to be honest we do need a little rain - not too much though eh. Lets hope the sun returns soon.
Thank you for reading, Debbie. I will say, it’s much easier to align myself with spring than it was with winter! 😂
You have a lovely voice while recording your musings and thoughts. I hope you are having a good day.
Thank you for listening, Daniel! Wishing you a lovely rest of the weekend.
Same to you!!
A heartwarming piece Victoria. Thank you for these gentle reminders 🌻🌱
Thank you for reading, Clare. 🥰

Oooh I love this take on it, Deb. You are so right. It’s a great way to keep engaged!
