Wow Victoria. This was gorgeously written! And so inspiring to sink down into your words and feel the softer side of gray. I’ve really been trying to lean into it this winter, though it’s not easy. Thanks so much for your perspective and your poetic way of sharing your thoughts on gray-ness.
And thanks so much for linking my post! I was so surprised to see it as I came to the end of yours. And I’m deeply honored. 🫶🏻
This was just lovely Victoria. I’ve really struggled with the grey recently, I’ve found it hard to punctuate my days with the never ending grey. But this has been so helpful. And reminded me of the wonders of keeping a nature journal which I certainly shall be doing from this point on!
It can feel quite heavy after a while but I am definitely noticing more and more signs of spring every time I go outside. The magnolia tree in my garden is bursting with buds and I’m so excited for it to finally bloom. It will feel like we have finally crossed over to spring. I hope there are glimmers of seasonal magic where you are too.
I've now read all the Substacks you linked in this post, and they were all beautiful. Thank you so much for putting them together, and for the mention. I really love your writing and I love the concept of reframing the grey 🩶 it's certainly something we have to get used to in England isn't it ?
That's so kind, Emily, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the other posts too. It definitely seems to be grey more often than not here, especially in the winter, but we have bright sunshine today so I am hopeful for sunnier times to come. Is it sunny where you are?
Great post! Thank you for the shout out too. The grey can make this time of year feel a bit drab but I guess that makes spring all the more exciting when it comes. Reframing the grey reminds us to enjoy the day we’re in rather than wishing we were elsewhere
You’re very welcome. Yes, I am very much looking forward to the brighter colours of spring. Nothing like some colourful blossom to cheer everything up. ☺️
The grey has certainly been challenging of late, particularly after some chilly, bright sunny days in late-January, but it is all part of the cycle, and colour will return 🌿
Thank you so much for including my Substack. It really means a lot, and I’m so happy you’ve been enjoying reading it. 🥰🙏🏻❤️
You're so welcome.

You're so welcome! Leaning into winter is really hard. I hope brighter days are on the horizon for both of us!

Yes, it is on its way! Here's hoping for a wonderful spring full of warm sunshine and lovely flowers everywhere.
So interesting what you said about 'grey', I've never looked at it like that before. Lovely!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Claudia. Thank you so much for reading! ☺️
Thank you for recommending my Substack!! ❤️
What a way to look at gray. Reframing is a useful skill.
It is certainly helping me to get through these heavy, grey days we’ve been having here. Hope the sun is shining where you are!
Blue sky and sunshine, fresh fluffy snow - a beautiful day.
